About this Photograph
As
you wind down the 619 turns and 59 one lane bridges
of the Hana Highway on Maui, you will not see
a waterfall more spectacular than this from the
road. It's high peak, multiple tiers, and garden-like
environment, makes for a magical moment. I had
to shoot and reshoot this picture. I had past
it several times while exploring Hana and looking
for other hidden treasures such as Venus Pool,
Red Sands Beach, and Seven Sacred Pools. Many
of these sights require trespassing, fence hoping,
and facing your own mortality as the sand holding
you atop the cliff erodes below your feet.
