About this Photograph
Photographing children is kind of like photographing pets. You need to let them be in their own environment and let them do what they want to do. I can remember several shoots with my family that were completely stressful experiences because the photographer wanted to stage the shot and tried to direct a 2-year old. Dressing up, getting in the car, constantly having your hair touched and moved is too much stimulation for any person, but especially a child. I always prefer photographing children and families in or near there homes. There is a certain comfort that it brings and always seems to produce better results.
