About this Photograph
When I first visited Sedona Arizona fifteen years ago it was one of the most beautiful places in the Southwest. It's beauty is now over run by development as people fight for a piece of a once pristine and magical place. There still remains pockets of beauty as seen here in Sedona Harvest.

The prickly pear cactus in the foreground is eclipsed by the red rock "Hoodoos" in the back ground. Notice the ripe prickly pear fruit which is a favorite of all the species living in the Sonoran desert and are especially tasty in ice cream and margaritas. The red rock country of Sedona was once the home to many Anasazi Indians who roamed this area and who's stone structures can still be spotted high in the cliffs.

If you visit Sedona, make it a point to leave the fine art galleries and restaurants behind and visit Schnebly hill, Submarine Rock, Oak Creek Canyon, and road 525 in the western part of Sedona. These areas will give you the best feel for what once a sacred place.
