While
shooting this beauty I accidentally squatted on
top of the Sonoran deserts most dangerous species
the "Cholla" or "Jumping Cactus". There is no
need to jump when you have an over-excited photographer
more than willing to slam his gluteus maximus
directly upon an unexpecting Cholla with immeasurable
yet ever memorable force.
The sky started out as a stripes of cotton-candy
blue and pink. Eventually the sunset burst into
this firery spectrum in the Southwestern sky.
The tree in front of the sunset-painted sky is
a Palo Verde. This remains as one of my most favorite
photos.
