About this Photograph
I
found myself in a dream... a jungle on the north
shore of Maui. We were visiting a friend who lived
in a small hut surrounded by fruit trees. From
star fruit, to gigantic avocados, and to strange
unidentifiable fruits, I struggled to come to
terms with the beauty that surrounded me.
The lushness of the jungle and the over abundance
of fruits and flowers made me feel as if I had
walked into the Garden of Eden. Later on that
night we prepared a wonderful ahi tuna, seared
rare and served upon a bed of fruit salad with
a passion fruit vinaigrette for our gracious hosts.
This Mexican Daisy was in a small flower bed just
outside the mosquito-netted porch of Reem's bungalow
and appears to be almost weeping after an mid-day
shower.
